Rainbow Bridge

Because each of us has a driving force that leads us to what we are today. This page is a small tribute to those who have crossed 'Over the Rainbow Bridge'. Leaving behind loving memories and lives that will forever be changed. --K Rose

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.

There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.

There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Sue Barnes , MYTDOG Owner and Head Trainer. Many of you may not know (although it is on the website) but I did not grow up around dogs, but in 1993 I got Bria and she changed my whole world. Bria passed away at nearly 15yrs of age, nearly unheard of for the breed.

Bria is why I developed my passion for training dogs. I dragged Bria to every class that I could, she was trained, trained, and trained some more, all so that I could figure out how to have a dog that I could take with me anywhere. Bria changed the perception of the rottweiler in the city of Dubuque. When I was an animal control officer Bria often came to work with me, saying hello to everyone in the office and riding with me in my van all over the city.It was through this experience that I learned the real joy of having a constant ‘four’ legged companion. It is what started my dream to work with other owners and their companions. MYTDOG was developed with the hope that I could teach others and their dogs, that you really can go anywhere together.

It has been such a dream come true to work with all of you to make my dream a reality. As we move forward through 2008 I just wanted to pay tribute to Bria. I hope that all of you are learning everyday that the mission of MYTDOG really truly is for you to have a dog that you can take with you everywhere that life takes you. Bria will always travel with me in my heart.

Chyna was Teri's first dog, a dream of hers to have a Saint Bernard Chyna showed her love with lots of sloppy kisses. Chyna was diagnosed with cancer and was laid to rest on the family farm just a few months later, she is deeply missed.

StryderIt is with a heavy heart and tear filled eyes that I must tell you that Stryder has passed on to a better place. I am sure I do not have to tell you that he is very deeply missed.  Words can not express how much I miss him.  I thought you should know since you are one of the reasons Stryder was able to live the last 3 years of his life.  You helped him and me and enabled us to be able to keep him in our lives. Know that my fiercest protector is now a doggy angel (with devil horns popping through his halo) and protecting us all from above. --Melissa

Rosie was a great friend to all of us here at MYTDOG. Rosie inspired her owner to develop the 'Buddy & Rosie' Bark and Brew Festival, which is how we first met Rosie. She attended agility class with MYTDOG and showed us all her humorous side as she traversed the obstacles. I think this photo suites her well, as Rosie never really cared about where she was or what she was doing, she put her energy into simply being in the presence of the the ones she loved. She was a faithful friend who was diagnosed with cancer and lost her battle about 6 months later. We all miss her.
