Pam and Marv, Kate, Kizzy and Lucy

Sue, we are so excited about your new venture, MyTDog, and know it will be a huge success! Des Moines area dogs and their owners are fortunate to have you bring this wonderful training method to them.

Over the years, we've owned dogs of every size and breed you can imagine. We LOVE dogs and dreamed of someday having well-mannered dogs that could greet people without knocking them down and that we could take with us wherever we went. So, like many pet owners, we attended dog training classes at local vet offices, park districts, community colleges, and even tried private trainers who trained in the home and off-site. We never achieved the results we wanted, probably because we lost interest and became less and less consistent.

In 2003, we brought home our first Labradoodle, Kate, all the way from Australia. By the time eight months had passed, we added two more Labradoodles from the same breeder. Kizzy, a retired breeding 'mum,' was already well-trained and behaved beautifully. Kate and Lucy were good pups who did well in their training classes, but, once again, we fell down on the job. The dogs weren't the problem it was us. We weren't consistent and often found excuses not to attend the training classes.

Surfing the web, Marv came across the That's My Dog! site in Hazel Green, Wisconsin, and called for a free demo. I was very nervous about the e-collar and wondered what he had gotten us into. Once I held the collar in my own hand and felt the stimulation, my concern lessened a great deal. When I saw how each of the girls immediately (and happily) responded to the training taking place during the demo, I was completely on board. Not once did they shy away or become afraid. In fact, they were licking everyone and hated to leave!

I can't tell you how thrilled we are to hear people comment on our well-behaved dogs. It's so easy to be consistent with this type of training because we see immediate results and the dogs have developed such confidence. It's fun to attend different group classes and agility training because our dogs actually do what they are supposed to and seem to get even more enjoyment from it than we do. Also, I enjoy walking with them so much more now because there is absolutely no hassle. People literally walk up to me on the street, or stop their cars, to comment on how these three walk together.

While we enjoyed working with various trainers at TMD!, you were our favorite, so you will be missed by us very much. Your knowledge, enthusiasm and skill in working with the dogs (and their owners) can't be matched! Kate and Lucy developed even more confidence in the beginning agility class you taught last summer. We are grateful we found this training method (and you) as it has made a huge difference in owning three large, active dogs.

Best wishes for much success with MyTDog! Please dont hesitate to use us as a reference. People can contact us via e-mail at pam@kombrink.com, or you can give them our phone number. I'm a true believer that this is the best training method for both pets and their owners!

Elizabeth and Pebbles

"This program is UNBELIEVABLE! Well almost, if it hadn't been for the FREE demo. That's right, I don't know about you, but if something is free, I'm game. I met Sue Barnes at the Iowa PetExpo in Des Moines and her team were very enthusiatic about the program. The most convincing player on the team was her dog Tanner. This dog wasn't even on a leash!
Now I love my little angel Pebbles Anne, a border collie mix, but I really can't take her anywhere. She HATES men and has a bad habit of jumping on EVERYBODY. Not to mention the attention jealousy factor around other dogs. My goal.........train my girl to be well behaved enough to take her everywhere I go, without her attacking everyone in site.

Sue and Tanner came to my place, which is a hotel, since I don't even live in Iowa, and worked with us. It was AMAZING! After about a 30 minute demo outside in the chilly air, we went inside and at the stairwell we talked for a bit. During that timeframe, many hotel guests, including this WILD dog that kept lunging at everyone (I know exactly how his owner was feeling)walked past Pebbles as she sat calmly, watching the reactions. Some of the guests even commented on how well she behaved.

Needless to say, that convinced me that this is a program that would fit great with my needs. So I joined the MyTDog program.

I have now had the e-collar for about 72 hours and I have yet another amazing story. Now I must say, the hardest part of this program is not adjustment from the dog, it's adjustment from the owner. I have been training with Pebbles as much as I can for the last few days and boy was I proud of her today.

I went home for lunch. Pebbles and I were outside playing soccer (see her soccer pictures attached), when the WILD dog, he's a black lab, comes out with his owner. I command Pebbles to SIT and she listens. The cooles part, she's NOT on a leash! The dog walks within feet of us practically making his owner trip from the sparadic lunges. Pebbles just sits, looks at me, then looks at the dog, then looks at me. No body movement, no growling, just sits. The dog gets about 50 feet away, I break her sit command and we resume playing soccer, just as if the WILD dog was never even around. IT WAS FABULOUS! But wait it gets better.

As we're heading in, about 30 minutes later, we reach the entry door, when a MAN walks out. Again, I command Pebbles to SIT, and I also throw in QUIET, since I hear some growling. Pebbles responds in milliseconds it seems. Before you know it, the man starts petting her and praising her for being such a good dog. She didn't budge at all! I think she liked getting praises from strangers. This guy stood there and talked to us for a good 10 minutes and Pebbles just sat there. I didn't even have to correct her. Then, guess who comes back, yup, MR. WILD DOG and his owner. Pebs couldn't resist, she budged, but one correction and she was sitting quietly again. The dog actually lunged at her, sniffed her nose, rather harshly if you ask me, and Pebbles didn't budge! The owner of WILD DOG just yanked his dog into the hotel. I praised Pebbles for about 5 minutes. Did I mention that all this time, I didn't have a leash on her? Okay, I should have, but I panicked and forgot to put the leash back on. She totally rocks!

Well, I'm sure I'll have more stories to tell later. This was just so AWESOME, I had to share it."

Eric, Beatrice and RJ

RJ, Bea and I can't thank you enough for the wonderful weekend Agility course! Susan Barnes was incredible and she did what you said she would. I have believed what ever you guys have taught, but I had my doubts about RJ(10mo. old Black Lab) doing a complete agility course. She not only had RJ doing it, but as you saw, every dog was doing it!

We had such a blast working with Susan and my feeling when he finished the agility course with no problems was awesome! You guys went out of your way to make sure all the dogs stayed well hydrated and cool even in direct sun and 94 degree weather. It looked like the dogs were fine but I was worried about some of the owners & Susan!

We will continue coming to classes and we will plan on seeing Susan Barnes again next year when she comes. I have a feeling like RJ enjoys the times on the agility course as much as I did working with him. Again, we can't thank you guys enough what you have done with RJ. He has become the dog we always wanted!

Yours truly,
Eric & Beatrice Sinn

Tracey and Rudy

Thank you so much for the wonderful opportunity and a great day with Rudy. I never thought that he would take to the equipment so quickly. We learned so much today. Sue Barnes rocks!!! The answer to the question of who's more tired, the owner or the dog... DEFINITELY THE OWNER. Good Night. See you this week.

Have a great day!
Tracey

Melissa and Stryder

Sue,

I would just like to pass along a note to comment on Stryder's progress. You and your colleagues at That's My Dog! have made a long lasting change in Stryder's behavior. Stryder was a headstrong dog who did whatever he felt like doing. I had been through other training classes with Stryder but this is the first training program to have made a difference in his behavior.

The e-collar training techniques that you demenostrated and taught me have made a huge difference in Stryder's attitude and disposition.

The e-collar has provided me a way to effectively communicate with Stryder. You and e-collar training have helped to bring Stryder around to the dog I am proud to call mine. He is so happy now and understands how to behave in almost all situations. I want to thank you so much for all the work you have done with Stryder. He instantly liked you and your colleagues at That's My Dog! have made a huge difference in both of our lives. I am very grateful to you for all of your help and guidance.

Thank You,
Melissa & Stryder Flesch

P.S. I am attaching a picture of Stryder. He is so cute. You would never think he wasn't anything other than an angel!

Scott, Kelly and Shelby

Sue is a great trainer. We wish she was not leaving the area! She really understands how dogs think and what makes them do what they do. With her training techniques and the e-collar, the dogs understand alot more quicker and easier. We would not do anything differently when it comes to training Shelby. With the training Sue has taught us, Shelby can even go to the fridge and get a beer!! She has helped us make Shelby into a wonderful dog that can do anything!!!

Thanks for all your help Sue!!!
Scott and Kelly

Deb and Madison

Madison and I took our first agility class with Sue and we were instantly hooked! Sue makes class fun and exciting but at the same time you are learning a lot. When we first began, Madison was terrified of the teeter. Sue was able to help Madison overcome her fear and become proficient on the teeter. I also noticed Madison’s overall self confidence had increased after only a few weeks of class.

Madison now competes in agility trials and has earned her NA (Novice Agility) and NAJ (Novice Jumpers with Weaves) titles. I continually ask Sue for advice on all types of training techniques. She is a great trainer and resource person!
